Palau Sardinia is a dive location based within the protected area of the La Maddalena and Reserve de Lavezzi marine parks. Sardinia is situated on the Emerald Coast. There are many islands to visit with its many beautiful white sandy beaches. The Island of Sardinia is wild and relatively untouched, great for nature lovers.

Choice of 40 dive sites, variety of Mediterranean protected marine life, amazing underwater topography, crystal clear water. The diving in Sardinia has a reputation for being rich in Marine life compared with other Mediterranean locations.


 The area has many choices when it comes to beaches, playgrounds for children and Scuba Diving making it good quality family destination.

Water temperature throughout the year varies from 12°C in winter up to 26°C in summer.

Shore Diving

There is generally shore dive available, for beginner to advanced level, from 1m to 27m where you can see Pipe fish, Octopus, Scorpion fish and other florna and fauna. This sort of shore diving can be particularly suitable for nervous or beginner divers due to the gradual increment of depth.

Boat Diving


Boat dive, Credit

By going out in a boat you can view some of the impressive local underwater topography with granite rocks, swim through, canyons. You will be able to see Soft corals, Posidonea, large Grouper’s, Moray Eels, Scorpion Fish, Sea Bream, Barracudas, Nudibranchs and Rays.

There is a Cargo Ship Wreck which is suitable for shallow dive at around 12 to 20 metres. There is also an engine from a 2nd World War plane at 20 metres on seabed.

Most dive sites do not have strong currents.

How to get there

By plane to the nearest airport is Olbia Airport. You can also use Alghero airport and Cagliari Airport.

Otherwise you are able to take Ferries to Olbia, Golfo d’Aranci, Santa Teresa di Gallura or Porto Torres.

Places to eat and drink

As you would expect there is a large choice of fantastic Italian restaurants and Bars at pretty reasonable prices.

There are not really any nightclubs on Palau Sardinia.

There are the usual activities for holiday makers that do not want to dive, this includes; Round-Island Trips, lazing around on the beach, windsurfing, kitesurfing, walking, biking and of course snorkeling.
