Ibiza passed both natural & cultural criteria set by UNESCO World Heritage Committee to be declared as World Heritage. 

The Ibizan coast widely extend for about 18 kilometres. With great visibility, Ibiza is not only for professional divers but also for amateurs.

Ibiza has 24 unspoilt dive sites to choose from. Guaranteed  great diving, crystal clear waters & abundant marine life.

August is the ideal month to  swim & dive in Ibiza. During this month water temperature reaches to 25°Celsius.

Climate

Summer months in Ibiza begin in May & end in October. August is considered the hottest month as the temperature reaches to 30°C. Although November to April is  winter season  in Ibiza, its temperature rarely drops to 0 degrees. In the month of January, temperature is about 12°C  and considered the coldest throughout the year.

Among the dive sites in Ibizan coast are;

Cap D’ Albarca-  This cove in the northern seaboard of Ibiza coastline is between Port San Miguel & San Antonio. It has wide opening that serves as an entrance to Pillars of Hercules and the Caves of Light dive sites.

Caves of light gives you the most unique experience when the sunbeam streams  its  way inside the cave.  Pillars of Hercules as it was named, this man-made like architecture serves as a hallway  of pillars gorges in the coast  giving  an impression of a spectacular dive.

Accessible by boat , these two dive sites is for divers in all levels.

 Ses Bledes Islands – Accessible by boat, this island is made of 7 islets. Spectacular dive site, beautiful landscape & soft coral rich ocean floor. A good place to spot a Moray Eel.

 Ses Margalides - one exceptional dive site. The cliffs & arcs overhead makes a beautiful stunning scenery.

Located in northern part of island of Ibiza, this two rocky islet sits near the port of San Antonio. Only accessible by boat, this dive site is home for sea squirts, barracuda, groupers, octopus, etc.

With excellent visibility, this dive site is popular among divers.

 The Aguja (Needle ) Is a submarine peak  located southwest of Es Vedra. A  dive descend in  an interesting  tower like  boulder. On its sea bed  are lobsters , groupers and occasionally scorpion  fish. The rocky surfaces are covered with anemones, sponges & bryozoans.

Las Islas Bledas is for divers in all levels. In Islas Bledas seabed lays the Red Gorgonias as well as macro life in Grotto. Good for underwater photography!

 Illa Conillera - is a small island located in the northwest seaboard of the Island of Ibiza. This dive spot has a lighthouse built in 1857. Quick fact: this lighthouse flashes  its four bright flashes every 20 seconds. The island is also known as Rabbit island due to the great population of rabbits that live on this island.

Another interesting dive site for Advanced level divers.

ILLA Murada is located near Puerto de Sant Miguel. A small island with a flat surface, facing 200 meter long Molar tower. Accessible by boat for divers in all levels.

Es Pallaret - This hay stack shape dive site is just in the coast of San Antonio near the island of Illa Conillerra. Conger Eels, Barracudas &  Moray Eels hover around this dive spot. For divers in all levels.

Ila Redona is for all level of divers. Another interesting dive in 25metre drop off. Remains of shipwreck found in this dive site.

La Mariana/La Platforma- also known as Fish Factory is located near  Formentera. Lobster, Conger eels, Moray eels and quite a hundred of barracudas resides under the depths of this dive site. 

Cala Olivera Cave - With max depth of 20 meters,  this another wonderful cave dive offers excelent diving for divers in all levels. Colorful waters, with excelent visibility. This magical dive site is located near Roca Llisa and Cala Llonga, south of Ibiza.

Don Pedro wreck - Sunk in June 11, 2007, this dive site is listed in the top 10 wreck dives in the world,  is teeming with life and crystal clear water, perfect for advanced open water diver. With depths ranging from 25metres to 45metres this 'monster of the med'  is home of many scorpionfish.

Es Figueral - A few minutes drive from San Carlos & Aguas Blancas is Es Figueral. Shallow & warm water is home of barracudas, lobsters, octopus, groupers, etc. Fantastic for all level of divers. 

 

Don Pedro wreck is listed in top 10 wreck dives in the world perfect for advanced open water diver. With depth from 25metres to 45metres this

How to Get there

Tourists  has  two options  to reach Ibiza, either by Plane or ship.

 Sant Joseph is 7.5 kilometers southwest of Ibiza  serves both Ibiza  & Formentera for european & international flights.

 For those who want to try another option, there are about three ferry companies  that sail the ports of Ibiza, these  are Balearia, Iscomar & Acciona.  This is one way to enjoy sightseeing along mediteranean coast  while on board.

 Inter-Island boat charters, taxi , rent-a- car, bike rentals are  also available upon reaching Ibiza. These services provides easy access to  visit Ibiza’s tourist spots.

Tips

Anytime is  a good time to fly to Ibiza. Ideally, it's nice  to go there when it’s the party opening. Extravagant parties most likely starts  in end of May  through the mid of June and closes in the month of September.

Booking a ticket early especially in the month of June will save you from the pricey ticket over the middle the summer.

One more tip: Don’t forget  your pack of sunscreens!
