Recognized as a self-governing British Crown Dependency, the Isle of Man or quit simply Mann, is situated in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland. The island was originally inhabited as far back as 6500 B.C. as one of the six Celtic Nations and therefor possesses a strong Gaelic cultural history.Book A Dive Center Online
Today, however, the Isle of Man is world famous for its annual Tourist Trophy (or TT) motorcycle race where 750 cc racing bikes circumvent the island’s main public road at speeds up to 210 kilometres per hour.
All of Mann’s dive locations are located off the island’s southern-most tip and are accessible from Port Erin or Port Saint Mary. The island boasts some the finest wrecks, scenic and drift diving available in the UK and visibility is said to be unrivalled by any other location throughout the Irish Sea. Divers will discover a host of large marine animals such as seals, porpoises, dolphins, whales, orcas and during the summer months, the rare Basking shark. Due to its location, however, dry suits and cold water diving experience are highly recommended.
