How to Get there

Apparently no airport serving in Hamata yet, so the nearest airport is Marsa Alam. If you’re coming from Europe it takes 4-5 hours to get to Marsa Alam and from there is 2.5 hours travel to Hamata.

The other option is from Hurghada Airport. A  5-hour travel to Hamata via mini bus. Hurghada has about 3 airline companies operating unlike Marsa Alam where there is only one. This means flight schedule is more flexible  via Hurghada.  The taxi fare ranges from 300-500LE from Hurghada to Marsa Alam.

Where to Eat & Drink

Since Hamata is a secluded island, expect no bars and no shopping malls can be found here;  just few hotels and few restaurants. Few restos means less options. Highly recommended is Wadi Lahmy as it has its own restaurant and serves European, International, Arabic and Egyptian cuisine.
