I am going to be in Singapore for a cruise the beginning of October - the reports I've read are not that complimentary about the dive sites - is it worth taking the time to dive there or wait for Cambodia, Thailand or Vietnam?

thanks

Samui is pretty good! Good vibe too.

Most Leam Chabang diving will leave from Pattaya based dive operators.. Pattaya is a total shit-hole full of angry russians and hookers. I would def stick to the islands. There is some more interesting/better quality diving there too. Koh Tao was my favourite place in that island group.

from what I know, Singapore has some dive sites but these are limited to smaller creatures (seahorses) if you're interested. visibility will not be that clear as well.

thanks, I've contacted one group in ko samui and am trying to organize something but the timing is tough - hopefully it will work out - I appreciate the feedback

the dive center I chatted with said it would be impossible to get from the ship over to the other side of the island before the normal dive times as we dock at 7 am so their only option was a personal dive / boat / car but it was like 800 usd for 2 dives -- so I am now looking to see if there is any diving near Bangkok as our ship docks at Laem Chabang - any suggestions close by?

you could consider diving in Pattaya. if you have a few days in Thailand, then consider taking a bus/train down to Koh Tao - whalesharks abound! :)
