Our dive center and surf shop is located right in the heart of Bocas Town on the main street - very easy to find and convenient to get to. You are living on one of the other islands? No problem, just tell the taxi boat driver to drop you of directly at La Buga’s Dock in front of our dive shop.

How it all began…

Meant to be a routine supply stop for PADI Instructor Ricardo, it soon turned into the beginning of La Buga’s flourishing history. Taken in by the positive island vibes and exceptional dive conditions Ricardo decided to set up a new dive shop in Bocas Town. He created and renovated La Buga Dive Center & Adventures.

Backed by many years of experience of working for and operating dive centers, he established high standards for equipment and first class service to provide the best range of customized dive experiences Bocas had and still has to offer.

Time went on and La Buga quickly built up a reputation as a reliable and renowned Dive Center & Surf School in Bocas del Toro.

But a couple of years later, even with the great success of the new diving school, he still had the feeling that something is missing.

Being not only a diver but also a surfer in his heart, Ricardo decided to complete La Buga’s spirit by establishing a surf school as well. He hired an incomparable instructor, who is not only an outstanding surfer himself, but has the right vibe and attitude to electrify his students to feel the same enthusiasm he does when riding a wave.

And this is what we are now, a five star PADI certified dive center and surf school: a great place to learn, work, dive, surf or simply enjoy the Caribbean flair in a relaxing and stimulating atmosphere.
