Dive Panama: Gulf Of Chiriqui

Our all-inclusive Panama dive resort on the Pacific Coast is relatively close to locations with some of the best diving in Central America such as the Coiba Island, Isla Secas, and Isla Ladrones.

The Chiriqui Marine National Park has over 800 species of tropical fish and 33 species of sharks. Our Panama dive sites range from calm inshore reefs to exposed deep water pinnacles and wall dives.

Panama Dive Sites:

Isla Secas

Isla Secas is the closest dive to Cala Mia Island Resort. The 16 volcanic islands make up what is known as Isla Secas. Visibility in this area is superb. This is the closest best Panama dive spot 40 minutes from the resort. You can see huge schools of fish that will surround you in a cloud which you can make dance with the movement of your arms. The area has 15 + dives sites while new ones get found every day.

Isla Ladrones

Isla Ladrones, a great Panama diving location that is 50 minutes from the resort and is another best Panama dive spot. It is possible to see species of jack and snapper, white tip sharks as well as Pacific barracuda and needlefish.

Species of manta ray, such as devil, mobula and eagle can be spotted quite frequently, as well as turtles. Reef sharks such as nurse, white-tip and black-tip swim in these waters. We have 4 + dive sites surrounding the Ladrones Island.

Coiba Island

Coiba is the considered the best Panama dive sport for big marine animals and it is located less than two hours from a dive resort.

Depending on the season here you can see bigger species such as dolphins, whale sharks, several species of shark including hammerheads and manta rays.

The area has 10 + dives sites that can be explored year-round.
