Rumblefish Adventure is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center and a private company located in the serene Kata Beach, Phuket. Established as a dive club in 2003, Rumblefish Adventure has evolved into a full service PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Dive Center (S-36488) in 2008. We also operate a very popular hostel for divers and backpackers on-site. Our founder and the management team are pretty much remain intact since 2003.

To remain as one of the best in divers education and diving excursion providers, our core team of PADI Instructors are top graduates of our PADI IDC program in Southeast Asia. We do not use ‘FREELANCE instructors’ randomly, a common practice among the ‘many small set-up dive shops.’

We practice a very simple approach, we treat all of our guests like our family and friends…. Our basic business philosophy: “Your safety and fun are our main priorities” with “High standard of service at fair prices!”

PADI Bubblemaker

Bubblemaker offers an easy and enjoyable introduction to the magic of underwater breathing.

It makes a perfect transition step for children. They can go from watching their parents or older siblings enjoying SCUBA diving, to learning how themselves. No worries though, any age is welcome to participate.

For children ages 8+, this course gets them below the surface and blowing bubbles in a fun filled 1 to 1 ½ hours. After watching an engaging 30 minute video called “PADI - Discover Scuba Diving,” a PADI certified instructor covers safety considerations in a comfortable way for children. The small class then puts the lessons into practice in water less than 6 feet deep. Safety is the priority.

Students learn how to swim with fins, use a mask, and take their first breaths underwater.

Once the class starts “blowing bubbles” with ease, the instructor will carefully lead them through cool tricks to keep their excitement and interest up. They could be playing frisbee, swimming like a dolphin, or learning to swim upside down while down under!

Aside from great memories, each participant gets a prize to mark their new skills: a sharp looking PADI certificate.

The dive center provides all the necessary gear: mask, snorkel fins, wet-suit if required, tank, weights, vest, and regulator.

No special swimming skills are required. Anyone in good health, without a cold or ear infection, is welcome to sign up today!

PADI Discover Sucba Diver

DSD typically takes a day, involves some instruction and some diving.

PADI Open Water Certification

PADI's Open Water Certification unlocks an entire new world of exotic ocean adventures. Students from the Discover SCUBA Diving class will already have some of the skills for this course. Anyone in good health over the 10 years of age is eligible.

Advanced PADI certified instructors lead students through guides and videos explaining terms and concepts about the technical aspects of ocean diving. Following class room instruction, the students put the theory into practice with relevant pool dives. Skills build on each other. Eventually students learn about going as far as 130 feet under the surface, pre-dive safety practices, equipment check outs, and how to handle most diving challenges.

Students move through at least five pool dives and four local dives on their way to passing the certification test. The instructors role is to get students safely through the lessons until they are confident enough for exciting open ocean diving. Though fun and focused on making students comfortable underwater, this is a serious course that conveys and verifies defined skills on those that pass. Not everyone attains the level of competence required for safe open water diving. For this reason, gaining the PADI Open Water Certification is a cause for pride.

A big part of SCUBA revolves around equipment. Students learn about selecting masks, snorkels, fins, dive computers, dive gauges, wet suits, buoyancy vests, tanks, regulators and weight belts. The dive shop can rent all of the necessary gear. Instructors can also assist students with buying gear that improves their diving enjoyment and safety.

Class length varies by season and size. It can take as little as 2 intense days, or as long as 8 weeks depending on how many hours per day students can devote, along with access to suitable dive sites.

Gaining experience as an Open Water Certified diver often leads to a desire for more skills. Becoming an Advanced Open Water diver gives more knowledge and skills for enjoying SCUBA in a wider variety of more challenging conditions.

PADI - Advanced Open Water Certification

If PADI Open Water certification is like a standard driving license, then the Advanced Open Water (AOW) certification is sort of an off-road license. At a minimum, students gain underwater navigation skills, learn about deep water conditions, get introduced to more advanced dive computers and functions, plus learn several specialty skills of their choosing.

Specialties include photography, wreck diving, using underwater scooters, optimized buoyancy, and more. A total of 16 specialty skills to sample makes this a seriously exciting course!

One of the highlights for AOW students involves exploring the mysterious and murky world of night diving. Feel like a special forces commando while diving with only moonlight as your guide on the surface. Below the surface, and aided by submersible high intensity flashlights, the phosphorescent sea creatures give student's eyes a treat they have to see to believe!

Anyone who completes the Open Water certification (or equivalent from another organization) and is at least 15 years old, can sign up. Expect 5 dives with underwater navigation, deeper activities from 18-30 meters / 60-100 feet, plus 3 specialty introduction dives.

Despite the name, divers just out of the Open Water course enter the Advanced program routinely because it gives them more skills while earning hours for their log book.

There are both home study and in class books explaining theory, safety issues, and new skill exercises.

For the gear lovers, this course will definitely fit the bill. Everything from the basic scuba gear, to underwater compass, wreck diving tools, underwater photography equipment, DPV's (underwater scooters), dive lights, dry suits (for possible cold water diving), dive flags/floats or other optional equipment may be used. The dive center will have rentals available for each specialty.

Students with the Advanced Open Water certification gain confidence in their ability to navigate underwater, safely dive a wider variety of conditions, and go places they would have been hesitant to with only Open Water skills.

A great course for taking the diving excitement even farther..sign up today!

PADI - Rescue Diver

Adding the Rescue Diver certification shows the ability to overcome challenges and assist other divers in distress. This is one of the more intense courses available for anyone who has completed either the Adventure Diver or Advanced Diver Certification (or equivalent from another organization). A student must also have a current (less than 2 years old) First aid and CPR course certification.

PADI Rescue Diver crewpaks include materials needed for the course, such as pocket masks, instruction book and DVD. Specially trained PADI instructors guide students through advanced techniques for self-rescue, assessing and managing stress in other divers, emergency response and equipment issues, steps for rescuing divers, and assisting unresponsive divers.

Students will need basic scuba gear with a dive computer and accessories. All items will be available for rental or purchase at the dive center.

Once through the rigors of becoming a Rescue Diver, a new challenge awaits. Adding the Emergency Oxygen Provider Course certification elevates a student’s capabilities for assisting other divers.

These three courses - First aid and CPR, Rescue Diver, and Emergency Oxygen Provider - can turn a diver into the person who can potentially save another person's life. Sign up today and add a critical skill set to your diving repertoire.

PADI - Divemaster

When you know you love diving, and might want to make a living teaching the exciting world of scuba, then becoming a PADI Divemaster can make your dreams happen. The requirements include:

• Minimum age of 18

• PADI Advanced Open Water certified

• PADI Rescue Diver certified

• Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care certified

• Have at least 40 dives prior to the course, with a total of 60 needed for certification

• A high level of diving fitness with a Medical Statement signed by a physician within 12 months

Each student receives the PADI Divemaster crewpak loaded with educational resources and diving accessories for performing the tasks required for certification and instructing others. Generally, serious divers that enter the Divemaster program have all of their own scuba gear, but rental gear is available for specialty accessories. Students are encouraged to have dive watches, a dive compass, and diving knives.

The course covers three general phases over a period of 8 weeks, but can be condensed with more intense programs into 2 weeks or less. Classroom, independent study, and diving sessions work on water skills, stamina, organization, problem solving, and teaching methods for scuba techniques. Often students intern with other instructors for honing the lessons.

Achieving Divemaster certification demonstrates a high level of skill, confidence, and a commitment to becoming a leader or instructor for scuba diving with others. The certification confers a host of privileges all aimed at helping teach newer divers the safe practice of diving. Divemasters act as assistants to full instructors for any PADI diver course, and can lead courses up to the Open Water Diver Course.

Recommended courses after Divemaster include preparations for becoming a full PADI Instructor. Specialty courses that add to diving skills in more stressful environments such as Search and Recovery, Emergency First Response Instructor, and Deep Diver are all highly recommended.

King Cruiser Wreck

Phuket24 Jan 2015 - 24 Jan 2015 with Rumblefish Adventure

Great dive site with rich marine life. The wreck itself is rooted beyond 30m, but from where we were hovering around 25m, there was plenty to marvel at. Make your way inside the wreck and you’ll be swimming into large schools of fish. Giant pufferfish and lots of lionfish as well, and beautiful corals nestled onto the deck of the ship. Look out at the seabed around the ship as well – that’s where we saw (our first) leopard shark snoozing on the sandbank. Amazing experience!

Night Dive at Kata Reef, Phuket

Phuket31 Oct 2014 - 2 Nov 2014 with Rumblefish Adventure

One of Thailand’s top shore dive sites, Kata Beach North Reef is opened and the diving has been awesome. With easy walk-in conditions, relaxed shallow dives, Kata Reef lets divers take their time to take photos of some of the coolest and weirdest creatures in the Andaman Sea. In our first week, we have found Robust ghost pipefish, juvenile Reef cuttlefish, Reef octopus and on Halloween Night, a first time sighting of the rare Starry night octopus.

From now until the end of April, daily day and night dives, beginners or experienced all can dive here. It's a great dive site for long, slow and relax dives. You can log as long 100 minutes on 1 tank if you're good on air.
