It is very close to Tayrona Park which offers  all kind of levels dive sites, and is very cheap then it has become the most famous place for dive training in Colombia for backpackers.Tayrona park is no distance from La Sierra Nevada, this changes everything as it is part of the Caribbean sea making the water is colder and aquatic life denser.

Climate

It is predominantly sunny, with more rainfall in April and October.

Marine Conservation

There are no many policies about conservation in this area but it is still virgin despite some native and non industrial fisherman.

Shore Diving

Tayrona park is a huge mountain sunken into the Caribbean sea meaning almost all dive sites are sloppy bottoms, you can also find coral reefs very close to the shore.

There are a few wrecks and a couple of caves to be explored.

It is very difficult to see big animals but there is a substantial amount of tiny, small and medium size species along with soft and hard corals.

Boat Diving

The best places are located very close to the coast but there are few beaches around, so it is better to dive from a boat.
