Koh Kong is nestled in Cambodia’s Cardamom Mountain range along the country’s western coast. This area is the least developed and most unspoiled tropical region of Cambodia with lush jungles, winding rivers and huge waterfalls.

Koh Kong Island is considered to host Southeast Asia’s best beaches and is home to a newly opened island resort. There is an airport near the town that does not always accept commercial traffic but there are decent roads that make for a scenic drive through this natural environment. Buses and taxies (or tuk-tuks) are available for hire but realize that prices are negotiable and you need to question any extra fees drivers may attempt to charge.

Until recently the Cambodian government did not allow ecotourism around the islands off the Koh Kong coast making this archipelago an untouched paradise. Hard and soft coral reefs, an enormous variety of marine and macro-life including Whale sharks and Mantas, pristine warm waters, numerous ship wrecks and constant new discoveries await divers that travel to Koh Kong. This region offers something for every level of experience and makes for a relaxing, affordable, eco-friendly getaway.
