Book A Diving Trip OnlineKadavu, with an area of 411 square kilometres, is the fourth largest island in Fiji and the largest island in the Kadavu Group, a volcanic archipelago consisting of Kadavu, Ono, Galoa and a number of smaller islands in the Great Astrolabe Reef.
Book A Dive Center OnlineKadavu is one of the least developed areas of Fiji. There are few roads and the local economy is largely dependent on subsistence farming, supplemented by exports to Viti Levu. Tourism is becoming popular, however, with snorkelling and diving among the major attractions. Vacationers will thoroughly enjoy their stay at the island’s exclusive Matana Beach Resort.
The Great Astrolabe Reef surrounds the entire island of Kadavu making it the world’s fourth largest barrier reef. Rich ocean currents flow through passages feeding these waters resulting in an extreme biodiversity of coral structures and marine life. The area is home to Manta cleaning stations, schools of barracuda, sea snakes and ribbon eels and divers can explore walls, pinnacles, valleys, caverns and caves. With warm clear waters and an array of dive site diversity, Kadavu has something to suit every diver who visits here.
