Planning diving the Malidves in feb/Mar.
We would like to see Whalesharks and Mantas.
Is Ari Atoll the right place for that in that period?
And if so, do we chose east, west, north or south?
Hope you can help!
Thank you :-)

Would love an answer to this question!\n\nI'm also going in March/April and was thinking of going to North East Ari Atoll... would I have a good chance of seeing Mantas/Whale sharks.\n\nWill only have three days diving time. : (

Feb - Mar is a good time to be there for both Manta & Whalesharks.. Ari Atoll - go south - the water is generally higher in plankton at that time of year and that is what attracts the big filter feeders.

Perfekt! Thanks :)

I dived in Jan in Ari and Male atolls on a liveaboard. Its the best way to dive the Maldives in my opinion as they can move about to where the mantas and whalesharks are reported to be at that time

South Ari (islands like Vilamendhoo) - as about 150 resident whale sharks stay in this area, there is a high probability to see them during your dive. It's really an amazing experience!

Fantastic!! Thank you very much Ismail :-)

The whale shark is usually found un Maamigili, at the South of Ari Atoll. Mantas can be seen in many different locations and february and march are definately high season months for these two spoting chances.
